I’m an average guy I guess. Most of my life I have been in the gym business. done all. Personal training, sales, management. You know, just a hardworking guy trying to make a living. My parents were restaurant owners, so I knew I wanted to have my own business when I grew up. Around the age of 24, I really started looking into various businesses. Now, I didn’t have a lot of money, so I was pretty limited. Out of the blue, someone introduces me to Network Marketing. I am hooked. I loved the company, the product and the payment plan. I believed in the concept of helping others achieve success equal to my success. They told me that all I had to do was copy what everyone else was doing and I would be as successful as they were. Well this is what happened:
I went to work full time. I worked in a beautiful office full of very excited people. I placed ads in the newspaper to attract new prospects. I went to over 20 weekend workouts. I, to this day, believe I received some of the best MLM training anywhere. I was on it 100%. He had no doubt that he would make it. I went on like this for 2 years. I ended up in $40,000 credit card debt, had my new truck repossessed, and was evicted from my apartment. My girlfriend left and even she took the dog. I took my last $100 and bought a bike. I ended up cycling to my factory job every day for 6 months. It was ruined and broken. Depression is an understatement. I had lived as a successful person for 2 years and now it was all over.
Fast forward to 2009. I am now 39 years old. I have been away from MLM for 15 years. Once again someone told me about a product that I could identify with. This time, however, I have internet and can research anything. If you’re searching the internet, you’ll probably come across topics like inbound marketing, social marketing, and the new model of network marketing, etc. You are also probably looking at various courses offered. Wondering if these are any good? I decided to keep an open mind and investigate one of these courses. I chose Mike Klingler’s Renegade Professional. I must say that he made me think in a totally different way. Learning how to market directly to the people who are interested in your product and your opportunity makes building any business so much easier.
If you are looking to start a business, you will need to generate leads and market a product. I highly recommend looking at any of the courses on this topic. I failed worse than anyone I’ve ever met. Today I am building a business in a much friendlier way.
