Sex can be hard on a man’s penis. All the rubbing and grinding can scratch the skin, and products that men may use to reduce friction can cause their own irritation. Add the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, and it’s surprising that men choose to have sex. But some other types of sexual activity can also cause red penis problems. For example, a man referred to here as Ken developed a red penis after buying some lap dances. Here is his injury story and the penile care he followed.
a sense of security
“When this all started, I didn’t have a steady girlfriend and I didn’t have a lot of time to date,” says Ken. “My job was going crazy and my parents were sick. I just didn’t have the energy to run out and find someone to go out with. But I still had a really strong sex drive, so I knew I had to do something.”
“I would never pay someone for sex, because I know that stuff like that tends to lead to health problems that I really don’t want,” says Ken. “But I started going to strip clubs, and when they offered me lap dances, I thought it was pretty safe. I had my clothes on, and she had at least some clothes on, so it all seemed safe enough.”
The beginning of the problems
“I had a few of these lap dances, all with the same girl, and we both seemed to have fun. But every time I had one of these dances, I would wake up in the morning with a red penis. My skin was all cracked and sore, and the skin was flaking off.
“This really freaked me out, as you can imagine, so I reached out to my doctor to find out what was going on. I know it might sound silly, but I was actually worried I might have something like AIDS or herpes from these lap dances. My The doctor told me that was not possible, but I would not rest until I had the tests. Fortunately, they were clear.”
“But my penis was really red and sore, that’s for sure, so my doctor and I talked about what could have caused that. Basically, she pointed out that my zipper was sitting right on my penis during the lap dance, and while she was moving her body on mine, that zipper went right into my sensitive skin,” says Ken. “No wonder he was sore!”
“Also, I had been using a bunch of scented products that could have irritated my skin, like cologne, conditioners, and body wash. All those added products could have dried out my skin and that could have made the pain worse,” Ken says.
a time of healing
“The first thing my doctor told me was to stay away from lap dancing for a while,” says Ken. “My sore skin needed time to heal and feel better, so I needed to stop punching and grinding. I didn’t really want to do that anyway, as I was in quite a bit of pain, so it was easy.”
“My doctor also told me to use a mild, fragrance-free soap for my body and to rinse after any type of cleansing,” says Ken. “The fewer fragrances it has, the better, says my doctor.”
“My doctor also wanted me to look for products that could keep my skin softer, so it could withstand occasional abuse without getting red or sore,” says Ken.
Men like Ken can benefit from a penis health cream (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Products like this contain the emollients that keep skin soft, combined with the vitamins and minerals that skin needs to heal. With regular applications, the skin will be healthier than ever.
