When it comes to directors I really do have favorites and will watch movies just because of the director even if it sounds like crap I’ll watch it to see if it is, mine ranges from comedy to drama but they are all Authors in their own right, I call this top 11 because I always think there are more than 10 and I’m making a revolution with it ha ha so he’s my list…
Martin Scorsese – What else is there to say about a man who launched Robert De Niro to stardom in my eyes that would have been enough to get me on my list, but what he’s done for the last 10 years with Leonardo Di Caprio is beyond reproach. In my opinion, its poignant yet crisp retelling of the more mundane subjects, like Taxi Driver, imagine directed by Steven Spielberg would have been awful, and historical themes and making an exciting and iconic period film like Gangs of New York.
Christopher Nolan – People always criticize my list for putting this guy at the top but I’ve known since the following that this director has potential and I’ve grown with his movies and honestly I can’t pick the best one because who can choose between perfection and me it always gets tangled up between Prestige or Inception and that after hours of debate, but with twists and turns and charismatic characters and stories that make Mr.Night tremble in his boots. He has the ability to make a character interesting within an intrinsic story that may have you scratching your head, but by the end you’ll be clapping your hands, they’re red raw.
Ridley Scott – The only Ridley Scott director who continues to amaze me with his diversity in film making, I love Alien and I hope Reboot is as good, he has Blade Runner and you think that’s okay, he’s a noir sci-fi director amazing, but then he puts out probably the best historical movie of all time in Gladiator, which is so good I watch it every month and you think he’s an amazing action movie director with attention to detail and an amazing storyteller, but wait… what does the amazing Ridley Scott mean, so he puts out a romcom set in France… sounds disastrous but a good year is amazing and my favorite romcom with his long time collaborator Russell Crowe. He shows up time and time again, he is the most diverse and charming director on my list and he will continue to be so in the future.
James Cameron – A director who makes a movie every ten years you’d say lazy but when you make a masterpiece it takes time and that’s what James Cameron is an artist, a complete controller of all aspects of film editing, he screams quality obviously his big crescendo has to be Avatar but omg all the movies he’s done (apart from Piranha part 2) yes he’s doing KICK ASS sci-fi movies but also Titanic is not a personal favorite , but you have congratulated on the incredible appearance of the film. . To conclude, that’s why it’s on the list and that’s why it’s on everyone’s list.
Luc Besson – This guy is the only foreign film director and that’s because even though there are many great foreign film directors, they have a movie or two to contribute, but Luc Besson is by far the best French director of all! And probably outside of English and American actors, the best director, like James Cameron, has two strengths: he chooses his projects with the utmost precision, and he produces and advises other French directors to give them a fighting chance. notable films inc. Fifth Element / Lion; The professional
Dennis Dugan – I don’t know much about the director, but longtime Adam Sandler collaborator and director of my favorite movies, inc. Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy and I hope he makes a good movie again soon after adults like his return hope he brings out more of Sandler.
Quieten Tarantino – Everyone’s Favorite Director! The ultimate cult director, his use of dialogue and characters are unimaginable to anyone reading one of his scripts who would think he’s crazy, but he makes it work. Every self-respecting actor wants to work with him because they know he will be an experience and a cult figure forever, ie Brad Pitt. But what impresses me the most is his unwillingness to give in to social pressure and make a blockbuster, now he can make any movie he wants… Inglourious Basterds being the best example of Nazis kidnapping Jews, you can’t write that story with a sane mind.
Ron Howard – This is my most surprising pick for me because even though I know he is a good director, looking at his IMDB list, he has had some mega hits and they include movies that I watch over and over again and I have no idea what. movies have in common. I just found out that I like the staging and the actors you use to portray a story of well-known significance, as is becoming recently, for example, your narration of the DA Vinci Code and the story of John Nash in a wonderful mind and he sets up the acts with a surprisingly simple direct approach to telling a story.
David Cronenberg – Possibly the only director on the list that I know for sure my friends or fellow film bloggers won’t have on their own list, but Cronenberg is quickly becoming my favorite director with movies like Eastern Promises and The Fly and Story. of violence. he takes a story and swaps certain components to make it unlike anyone else, he casts unusual people for lead roles and differs across genres, making a name for himself in psychopathic sci-action with The Fly, the intensity of his camerawork and dialogue makes you have to catch your breath when a Monologue comes to an end. He plays with your mind and your heart and I hope he continues to do so.
David Fincher: Fincher is here by popular demand, and I wanted to keep all the alien directors on my list, and while I’ll completely ignore the social network, I’ll count on the fact that he’s the creator of Seven, the greatest crime thriller ever made. really and the best turn in a movie so the film making is immaculate and his thought process is like a Quarterback style approach to movie making while he does magical things on screen but you know that this comes from years and years of planning and research. he deserves to be on my list for that point alone…
Guy Ritchie: an amazing English director and one that will continue to get better as the years go by… being married to Madonna at some point is the only reason he’s so far down the list, that and it’s not done. enough films to warrant it, but enough to make the list, his sharp-tongued, fast-paced, very British direction is distinctive and independent of anyone else on the list and his ability to identify a good English actor and ignite the passion of actors failing for movies like he has throughout his movies just like Christopher Nolan means he’s an ace in my book. Guy Ritchie is an auteur in the simplest sense because I can tell a Guy Ritchie movie from a mile away and everyone else can just look at Snatch and Lock Stock and say, I’m lying, I dare you!
This completes my list, I hope you agree with my list and if not, post what yours are…
