John 2:24-25 means that Jesus knew the right person to do his job (Ephesians 1:5). You do not need any testimony from anyone to prove the character or actions of a believer. Jesus Christ is able to quickly discern between good and bad. He knew what is in the heart of all mankind (Hebrews 4:13). He knew what everyone thinks and feels because he is God (Isaiah 46:9; 1 John 3:19-20). Jesus Christ is omniscient (Job 37:16; Psalm 147:5; 1 Samuel 2:3). There is nothing he does not know and he has great understanding in everything (Isaiah 55:9; Job 28:24; Psalm 139:4).
Many people may have been willing to undertake the work of the gospel through Jesus Christ, but Jesus Christ will not choose everyone to do his work. Jesus knew all of his actions, including those done in public and in secret. Jesus only entrusted his work to 12 apostles that he had chosen. These 12 apostles spread the gospel to as many places as they can so that people all over the world can come to know Jesus Christ. He will guide the one he has chosen for his work to do his will (Romans 8:28-30; Philippians 2:13; Ephesians 1:11). He knew the purpose of a person to do his work, either for his own selfish benefit or to really serve God. This makes Jesus fit to become mankind’s judge on the day of judgment (Romans 2:16; Ecclesiastes 3:17). Jesus Christ will judge everyone according to his words and deeds on Judgment Day (Romans 2:6; Job 34:11).
According to John 2:24, people believed in Jesus after seeing him do signs and wonders. Jesus knew what kind of faith the people in the crowd had. He knew how much perseverance they had and whether they would persist in holding on to believe in him. The parable of the seed in Matthew 13:18-23 gives an illustration of the different types of faith in believers. The first type of believer will miss the message after hearing it because he doesn’t understand it. The second type of believer will only believe in Jesus for a short time due to trouble and persecution. The third type of believer will turn away from Christ because he is preoccupied with the concerns of his life. The fourth type of believer is a good believer who produces 100, 60 or 30 times of fruit after believing in Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:1-8; Matthew 13:18-23).
Each of us has different gifts from the Holy Spirit. Every Christian has at least one gift of the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to believers for the edification and edification of churches. You must practice your gift by using it to serve God in the church before you can be good in that area. For example, if you have a gift for teaching, you must receive training, such as taking Bible study classes, before you can become good in this area. You can serve as a teacher in the Bible study class at church if you have a gift for teaching. In this way, you will not waste the gift that God gives you. There are 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit which include word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:1-11).
