If you choose a Browning compound bow, you will take pride in owning one of the finest bows ever made. This bow is very reliable and will never let you down, whatever the circumstances or weather conditions. The new Browning Illusion was released in early 2011 and is probably the best Browning compound bow to date. With a retail price of between $600 and $650, you might think the cost is a bit high until you give this pup a try. I guarantee you will never want to go back to your old bow after using this.
You can forget the old bows you saw the Indians use, and the one Robin Hood used while ducking and diving in Sherwood Forest, if Robin and his merry men had used a Browning compound bow, I bet the story would have been different. . They could have taken down the Sheriff of Nottingham in twenty minutes and sailed back, or whatever merry men do in the woods.
This Browning compound bow can release an arrow that travels at speeds in excess of 326 feet per second. It incorporates the impressive Trance chamber, and they’ve even added a real wood panel grip, in case you were pining for the old days of wooden longbows!
Browning offers a stretched length between 25 and 30 inches, it arrives with a stretched length of 29 inches, but if you request it, they will adjust the stretched length before shipping and charge you a nominal $10 to do so. It’s a bummer trying to do it yourself. The Illusion includes a fiber optic sight and a Mongoose arrow mount and shell.
If $600+ is a little beyond your budget, the 2011 Browning Verado MT may be a little closer to the mark (sorry). This will give you an IBO speed of 313 f/s and will cost you at least a couple of hundred dollars less than the Browning Illusion. This bow is just as awesome as the Illusion and comes with a fiber optic sight and the usual Mongoose brand bow quiver and scope. Same draw length and again, if you need to adjust it, tell them when you order it, and they’ll charge you just ten bucks to do it.
If Robin Hood were to see one of these amazing Browning bows today, I doubt he would recognize them for what they are. Their high accuracy and light weight, in addition to their reliability and maneuverability, make them possibly one of the best compound bows on the market today.
Browning has been a major player in the industry for many years. The Browning line of bows and archery equipment was manufactured at the Browning manufacturing facility in Morgan City, Utah. In 2001, Browning entered into an agreement with PSE in Arizona and took over the license for Browning Archery products when production stopped in Utah and moved to Arizona. Hey, they’re still made in the USA, that’s what’s important.
PSE, as a Browning associate company, has continued to add innovation to its archery product line, as evidenced by the Illusion, the latest and greatest compound bow from Browning.
