Many times over the years, a new subdivision is created without thinking about the infrastructure needed to support the newly created community. Well, this is categorically not the case for Anthem. Everything you need is there, or on the way, and something else.
Created by Dell-Webb, this Arizona city on the outskirts of Phoenix offers homes for all budgets; from the mid to low $ 200K all the way to “oh my gosh my gosh”. There is something for everyone. From a young family just starting out to a retired couple looking for a space to entertain their grandchildren, every once in a while, Anthem has you covered. All of this, plus an easy commute on I-17 to Phoenix, if that’s where work takes you.
In addition, for the family, there is the appeal of new schools, with excellent sports facilities, libraries and, in some cases, theater complexes to help keep your children motivated and actively involved.
Also, the recreational facilities are world class. The open space common area, similar to a park, with duck ponds and waterfalls is an absolute joy to behold. One afternoon recently, I saw a father with his young son and daughter doing some fishing. What better way to unwind after a long day at work than to relax with your kids and swap stories from your day, while teaching a worm to swim at the end of a fishing rod? Remember, however, just “catch and drop”! Arizona living at its finest.
There is also a model railway that runs through the park and offers rides for everyone.
For the more energetic among us, the diversions are endless, offering basketball and tennis courts, plus a gym complex with 2 pools that are the envy of the surrounding Arizona communities.
The huge gym is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including stationary bikes, treadmills, and weights; whatever, it has! Aerobics classes are offered and there is also a climbing wall for those days when you don’t have enough time to conquer Everest.
Then there are the pools. A huge regular swimming pool and an even bigger one with slides and water features worthy of a water park anywhere in the world. Watch out for the huge bucket in the air that fills up and then flips over and splashes everyone. Great fun for all children ages 8 to 80. Lifeguards are present, but please be careful.
Anthem, like much of the Valley of the Sun, has golf courses that rival the best that Scottsdale and Phoenix have to offer.
Everything is fine here at Anthem, including Wal-Mart, Home Depot and many other nationally renowned “Big Box” stores. There is also a shopping center for those astute shoppers who like to save money. You can find a lot of good food, from exclusive local restaurants to well-known fast food stores.
In all my years selling real estate, I have rarely seen such a well planned and executed community. Anthem AZ is truly a great place to start or raise a family. What are you waiting for?
