Is there really such a thing as GERD with apple cider vinegar? Kind of! Many people suggest that this type of vinegar is the newest natural remedy for gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux). but does it really work?
As a natural health expert, my research team and I have investigated hundreds of cures and found many to be quack. On the other hand, my research team has also found cures that outperform medications and antacids.
By the end of this article, you’ll know why you might want to stop taking antacids and try this new remedy.
Why Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)?
Although it tastes horrible, you may have heard a lot of positive things about apple cider vinegar. Many of you know at least one older person who has a drink every day and claims they haven’t gotten sick in 20 years. Some of you may even have a drink whenever you feel a cold coming on. The truth is, this type of vinegar is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and acid!
But does it really work for GERD (also known as acid reflux)?
Yes! And let me explain why! Did you know that most acid reflux is actually caused by too little stomach acid? This makes sense when you think about how it works. If your stomach doesn’t produce enough acid to digest your food, then more food (and gas) will stay in your stomach for longer periods of time… without being digested properly.
So ACV is so acidic that it immediately starts digesting food in the stomach and relieves heartburn very quickly.

How is this type of remedy used?
You don’t need a lot of apple cider vinegar for this remedy to work! One or two drinks will do the trick. That would equate to around 1 to 2 teaspoons.
After drinking the vinegar, you will notice a slight burning sensation for about 5 seconds, but then it will go away and you will notice almost immediate relief. And the good thing is that this remedy will work for days at a time. (Antacids can only work for a few hours.)
We also recommend that you buy the best quality vinegar possible. The Bragg brand has been a very popular choice with our customers. The cheaper brands have not been as successful.
Unfortunately, you will notice the terrible taste the first time you try this remedy. Fortunately, the taste won’t bother you after a while. However, you can dilute the vinegar by adding it to a glass of water and adding honey. This will make the mixture more tolerable and easier to enjoy.
