Gaviscon Directions
Gaviscon Directions is the easiest and best way to make a simple, effective model railroad. This is a system that you can build without the need for schematics, blueprints, or even plans. The Gaviscon design system has been around for over one hundred years and it’s still going strong. This is one of those projects where you don’t need to have a lot of experience in order to get it right.
In the beginning, I recommend using gansons small brass wire to cut the individual strands of track. You will also need some pliers to do this, but I’ll cover that in more detail in a later article. Once you have your track measured and sized correctly, you’re ready to go forward with your design.
Make sure you have everything you need to construct the track. You will need a sheet of graphite, which is about six by eight inches in size. You also need some nails of various sizes, and some wire, especially black wire. These items can be found at any good hobby store, and they are relatively cheap.

You’ll also need a set of pliers, especially if you’re making large structures. You’ll also need some wire cutters, and a utility knife. If you want to make changes to your design, these tools are perfect for that. Once you’ve got everything together, lay down your sheet of graphite and cut as many of the pieces as you need to. You’ll have a nice little pile of tracks to work with.
Next, all you have to do is run the pieces through the gannmets, attach the ends, and put the entire thing together. You’ll have to make sure that you attach the tracks securely, since if they don’t, the train can derail from the weight. Once you’re satisfied with your train, it’s time to start designing what kind of yard you want and how big of a building you can build. Once you’re happy with the results, it’s easy to add more detail.
To finish your model train girting project, it’s time to paint it all off. You can use any color paint, or latex paint, depending on your preferences. Now that you know what girts are involved in model railroading, it’s easy to see why this hobby has become popular among hobbyists around the world.
The girts you create in your model train girting workshop will help define the boundaries of your model train track. These little flourishes add character to the layout and also give you an idea about how much money and effort you’ll need to spend in order to complete your layout. If you want to add gourmet model trains to your layout, you’ll need to purchase girts first. These are easy to find online, and generally cost around $5 each.
Once you’ve bought your girts, you’ll be ready to head out and start practicing. You can visit model train clubs in your area or look for local gourmet model trains clubs in the internet. Once you get some practice going, you’ll be ready to create your first gourmet layout. Happy model railroading! !
