Are you a business or company looking to participate and interact in the growing world of social media? If so, you’ve probably thought about your strategy. But, who have you chosen to take care of the campaign?
The social media landscape is complex and deep. Many people get lost in the variety and functionality it offers and others believe that Facebook and Twitter are the only obvious players to worry about. The fact is that the complexity and the possibility of failure is so great that investing large amounts of money in these campaigns is almost mandatory. So, you need an experienced professional from the company to run it all, right? Wrong.
I’ve heard it said that a fresh young person is not the right type to take responsibility for such an onerous task as taking care of a company’s social media requirements. But think again. For example, who are the people who engage in social media most of the time? The young man. Who are the people developing platforms, changing the interactive process, and demanding new and improved applications? The young man.
Most people under the age of 25 will have been educated, from an early age, in the use of social networks. It is part of your story. They never had to learn “how” they just “did it”. If you combine that with the fact that programming and other IT manipulations are naturally second nature to this age group, then you can’t make a better argument for allowing them to lead and advise on social media for business.
