If you look up the word ectomy, you will find a definition that tells you that the suffix
“Ectomy”, often used in medicine, means to remove. Then, with more research, you will find that the word Ego is a Latin word that means “I”.
I have had some very personal and real experiences that I would not wish on even my worst enemy. It is through these experiences that I have come to realize that I have undergone an ego ectomy.
In other words, I am no longer the sum total of anyone else’s total thoughts and opinions. I am my own person. I am me, the true me full of attention and serenity.
I have come to realize that I am no longer attached to the meaning of myself, so to speak, to others. I am not the person that others think I am. “I” is removed from my current consciousness and is replaced by “We”. The “we” is the culmination of mind, body and spirit driven by the pure essence of doing good and becoming a channel for higher consciousness and the good of all.
The “I” has been removed from my consciousness as a direct result of the learning experiences that have brought me to where I am today. It is a humbling place to be. Realize that what people think of you is of no use to you in any way. Realizing that it is only an obstacle to truly living the life of “us”: illness.
Although it seems incredible, it is also a very valuable mention that the only difference between illness and well-being is a prefix. The letter “I” is replaced by the letters “We”.
It is this understanding that has guided my meditations. It’s really amazing the freedom of me
spirit that I find. It’s like I’m detached from the self that I used to be, caught up in what others might think and worrying about my reputation as a member of the community, until I realize that I’m not really the person everyone thinks I am. That I am of more substance and depth. That I live this life only to serve and help others realize their potential to be as great as I feel.
Awakening, even for a moment, to the truth of life, the meaning of existence and the virtue of reality.
This friend is an egoectomy. The true consciousness of life, love and meaning. It is the most important and transformative consciousness of all that is.
